Caps 1, Pens 2
4-21-01
Well, the only fun part of this game was seeing Trevor Linden punch Maria in the face! Way to go Trevor!!! Other than that, it pretty much sucked. The Caps had to win this game to have a really good chance to win the series, and they couldn't get it done. Can't really blame it on any one thing, it just didn't happen. Blah. Better luck next year boys. PLEASE have better luck next year?!?! For the fans?!?!??!!!! Pretty please!!!!!!
At the end of the game, the Caps were frustrated and Kono or Halpern allegedly speared Ian Moran in the, um, well, you know, "area." This set off a mini-brawl involving both team's best players--Bondra, Oates, Linden, Gonchar, Kono, Halpern, Lemieux, Jagr, even Hedberg got in a few shots in defense of his paycheck, er, owner. Quite a little scrum, highlighted by a nice punch to Maria by good old Trevor Linden. I miss Zed, but Trevor makes me miss him a little less when he does things like that!!
The aftermath of the brawl, gear everywhere. Unfortunately, it did nothing to the scoreboard, which still read Pens 2, Caps 1. Blah.
We saw quite a few banners throughout the city in support of the Caps--this one was atop a very, very, very tall crane (see next pic).
